I’ll try to use it in a sentence.
There is a dearth of options for true professional development in the credit union industry.
We have tons of training sessions on “stuff” like how to lend, comply, collect, review, document, comply, calculate, project, dissect, analyze, comply…..but how to be a good person to work with – you know – a real team player that will eventually make a great leader? Not so much.
Why is that?
Am I missing something?

Two thoughts:
1. Fewer options now that you got a real job 🙂
2. Why would you look inside the credit union industry for professional development about how to be a great team player, or use social media, or deliver great service, or…any of that? Why not find the industry that you think does it best? Or horizontal programs?
I don’t have anything to do with credit unions, but I get a bunch of value from your blog. I bet credit union types would find great insights from high-tech, hospitality, gaming…who knows?

Dear David,
I don’t know what I’d do without you……this slapped me upside the head with a giant “Doh!” That’s exactly what we need – fresh perspective. I love the idea of tapping into the hospitality industry. That’s what business credit unions are in when you think about it – making you feel good about leaving your money in our “hotel” overnight.
Thanks for hanging in there with me as I navigate my real job.
Loves,
D
